Pine Cone Music founder Peter McCracken first opened his doors in Georgetown 31 years ago. Over the years Pine Cone has become a staple in the Halton Hills community. Peter has decided to retire from the teaching business and plans to continue running his guitar store and repair shop in Acton at Black Rose Guitars.
On June 1st the Academy of Music will join Pine Cone and continue the tradition offering fun and engaging music programs in Georgetown. Private music lessons will continue on piano, guitar, voice, violin, banjo, flute, and ukulele.
Here are a few of the benefits the Academy of Music is bringing to Pine Cone:
THE MUSICAL LADDER SYSTEM
We are the only music school in Georgetown and Halton Hills that gives their students the opportunity to earn special colour wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical challanges. Do other schools offer prizes and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students by giving them full colour, really cool “Musical Ladder” wristbands that they can show off to their friends. The Musical Ladder is our unique method of music education that you can only get here.
More importantly when our students have a test coming up, they practice more, their parents are proud, their teachers are proud, and everybody wins. You can only get the Musical Ladder here.

150 DAY PRACTICE CHALLANGE PROGRAM
The 150 Day Practice Challenge is a fun way to help you set musical goals and earn cool buttons, certificates, and medals along the way! Parents initial the challenge sheet every day their child practices and the children work toward a new button every 30 days. This an amazing way to encourage your children to play more at home and help them set musical goals.

FREE ALL INCLUSIVE RECITALS TWICE A YEAR
Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
Every April and December many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We hold these at prestigious auditoriums such as the Mississauga Living Arts Center as they have a Grand piano and world class acoustics. We even provide a red carpet and step and repeat banner to make it fun!
Our recitals are the perfect venue for you or your child to show family and friends the results of months of learning and practice.
Students get exposed to new musical styles and instruments. The recitals help students stay motivated, encouraged and interested by seeing the progress in themselves and in their peers. We hold at least 2 recitals each year and we pride ourselves on making them the lowest stress, most enjoyable events you will experience.
